Environment Agency notice
"Notice is hereby given under section 15 of the Anglian Water Authority Act 1977 as amended by the Water Act 1989, that navigation on the River Cam will be closed at Bottisham Lock between Monday 25 June and 29 June 2001 inclusive.
"This closure is necessary to allow replacement of the guillotine gate chains due to Health and Safety considerations and to meet LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations, 1998) requirements. The work initially scheduled for March 2001 was delayed because of restrictions imposed by the Foot and Mouth outbreak. The work is now considered to be essential. We will inform the CMI Marina Link if the work is completed ahead of schedule.
