William Winter and Rachel Cole's performance at the Mirror World Championships (6-11 April) in South Africa improved as the week progressed, and they achieved a second place in the penultimate race. It was very unfortunate that a minor illness prevented them taking part in the last race, as it's not hard to imagine where they would have finished if their performance had continued to improve!

There were 75 entrants in the championships and their overall position was 26th. That compares with 81st out of 100 two years ago in Canada. This bodes well for next year's Europeans at Brightlingsea and the Worlds the year after in Ireland!
