Electronic mail is available from the mailhost to any point on the Internet using either POP2, POP3 or IMAP. A text interface is available through the BBS. Outgoing email is routed through an SMTP gateway.

The WWW site is accessed through a proxy server. This should be almost invisible to users.
Each user has a subdirectory called web in their home directory. The web subdirectory appears on the CamNet web-site with the following URL: http://www.cam.net.uk/home/username/ where username is the CamNet account name, and thus any files the user places in or below this subdirectory will appear with URLs relative to this one.
No support is given for running CGI scripts in free web space.

Each user has a home directory on the CamNet file server. Access is provided for uploading files using the File Transfer Protocol (FTP). Users can only connect to their home directory and subdirectories of it.
If at all possible, you should let your dialup system discover the address of the main CamNet nameserver for itself. If you really must enter it manually, it is:

This is not currently available through CamNet.
Use any news reader program to connect to news.cam.net.uk. We have full access to all of the .uk groups, and can obtain others on request.
By using any finger client, status@cam.net.uk will give you a summary of the current state of the CamNet network, and provide advance notice of any important changes. If you do not have a finger client, the same information is available at http://www.cam.net.uk/status.txt.
