 CamNet Newsgroups

The CamNet news server news.cam.net.uk carries several Usenet-style newsgroups of our own.
Here's the list (as at 29th January 1997):

Newsgroup Description
cam.net.test Test postings, local to CamNet.

(moderated by cam-net-announce@cam.net.uk).

cam.net.support.bbc BBC B/Master/Compact support on CamNet.
cam.net.support.bbs Help with using CamNet's BBS system.

cam.net.support.win95 Windows 95 info and support on CamNet.
cam.net.clubs.cb1 Discussion of the CB1 Cybercafe.

The first two groups (cam.net.test and cam.net.misc) are local to CamNet, in other words they are carried only by our own news server; the remaining groups are distributed more widely (in particular, they are now carried by our friendly sponsors Demon Internet Ltd.).

The CamNet news server also carries a few newsgroups from the outside world. We may be able to broaden the coverage slightly at some point in the future, but please don't hassle us about this at the moment!

If you have any problems reading or posting, or have any specific questions concerning CamNet's news system, please feel free to e-mail newsmaster@cam.net.uk.

More general problems with connecting to CamNet or configuring your particular newsreader should be reported to support@cam.net.uk (but remember, there may be some useful information in the Quick Start Guide for your particular operating system).
