"Every person will find for himself or herself the right way towards God, and what may be the right way for one may be completely wrong for another. Therefore, you must discover your own self, and develop your inner self, if you want to find the way to God. You must not follow or imitate anyone else."   -   Bapak, founder of Subud

NEWS:

Wed 28 March: Information Evening about Subud (a modern mystical way) and the Latihan experience (contact with the Divine), 7:30pm For those who are interested in spirituality or religion, this might be an interesting and surprising evening. Subud is unique in giving their followers the choice to belong to any or no religion, so members worship together across religious boundaries. The Latihan practice connects with the Source / God / Universal Life Force. At a time when religions often come into the headlines as being narrow minded, Subud comes with a fresh breeze of freedom. Subud awakens the entire inner feeling, the body and the senses so that an inner guidance can be felt.
Members of the Cambridge Subud Group will share their experiences and answer questions. this will be followed by refreshments and socialising and end 9:30pm. Free of charge.
Organiser & contact for this evening: Ralph Nimmann, 01223 510442
Venue: Friends Meeting House (Fox Room), 91-93 Hartington Grove (off Cherry Hinton Road), Cambridge, CB1 7UB (Plenty of parking space)

Last Friday / month 9-10pm: Subud Social Evening
(for members, friends and anyone who is interested in Subud).
@ our venue: East Barnwell CC, Cambridge (of course you are always welcome to visit us after latihan by prior arrangement)

What is Subud?

Subud is not a religion but a spiritual practice. It enables people of all religious backgrounds and beliefs such as Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Russian Orthodox, Quakers and Unitarians to worship together. We empty our selves and surrender to God in a spiritual practice called the Latihan, through which we are reconnected to our inner true selves and to God's guidance in our lives. Subud means to follow the will of God / Allah / the Creator / the life force with the help of the Divine Power that works both within us and outside ourselves. It is a way to renew contact with the Power of God, an individual experience which arises from within.
Subud can be described as the reality behind all religions or the life within a life.

Subud groups can be found in about 80 countries. In Britain 47 Subud groups are meeting in 93 places.
