In August 2004 CRISP received 3 years funding from Comic Relief. The funding is primarily aimed at helping people living in isolated areas of rural Cambridgeshire. Research carried out by CRISP in 2003 in the rural areas of South Cambridgeshire and Fenland showed that people from minority ethnic communities are living in isolation and many are suffering from racial harassment. It also showed a lack of support services available for people suffering this kind of treatment.
