If you are aware of anyone being admitted to Addenbrooke's please ring the following number and leave the information (Name and Religion) with the secretary who is accredited, or in her absence, on the answer-machine (01223) 217769.

Several people took booking forms for the Holy Land Pilgrimage. I would like to have those completed and returned to me as soon as possible so that we can calculate how many people will be going. led by Dr Hilary Marlow (Faraday Institute, University of Cambridge) "'Therefore the land mourns.' (Hosea) - Social & Environmental Justice and the Biblical Prophets." MONDAY 8th DECEMBER 7.30-9pm here at St Philip HowardA THANK YOU TO ALL FROM ROMULO LAGGUI
Greetings! I praise and thank God that I'm here again and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your prayers and financial support when I met that tragic accident in York.
I was unconscious for a number of days and the doctor said I almost died.
One time I felt and saw in my dreams somebody holding my hand whose face looks Jesus Christ. In my mind, he must be one of the nurses or doctors looking after me. I asked him why he had only one set of footprints, and he told me not to worry because he was carrying me. That reminded me of the poem, "Foot Prints in the Sand".
When I was transferred in HDU (High Dependency Unit), I asked the nurses who among them looks like Jesus Christ so I could thank him - and everybody said - no one.
It was by that time I realized that Jesus was beside me, saving my life carrying me through my critical times... and I know that all of you prayed hard.
~
Now, I have this second life " a new life ", I believe more in the power of prayers and understand that God is speaking to me.
Thanks to God for this new life thanks to all of you, especially Father Eugène.

We have been blessed with a good number of Altar Servers over the years but they do grow-up and move on to university or other places. We are currently holding our own but we do need young recruits to fill the gap. Jenny Sinclair is our Co-Ordinator and she will train your child and make sure they feel secure and confident in what they are doing. We are looking for children aged 6+. Obviously at age 6 they will not have made their First Holy Communion until next year but that is acceptable. Parents can contact Jenny by email or speak to her after the 10h00 Mass.

Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honouring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee.
I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee.
I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants.
Amen
