Fri 27 Nov: " Buddhist Teachings on Happiness" by Tenzin Dechen Rochard, 730pm

We all have the potential to be profoundly happy, joyful and at peace within ourselves, whatever may be happening in our world. Any suffering or discontent is only ever caused by the negative emotions, perceptions, and conceptions that are present, either manifestly or latently, within each individual's own stream of consciousness. By recognising, understanding and transforming these unskilful states of mind, we can give rise to more compassion and wisdom in our own hearts, improve our relationships with others, and make a real contribution world peace.

Dechen is English and has been a practising Buddhist since 1984. She was ordained as a nun by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1986 and remained within the monastic order for twelve years. She completed several three-month solitary retreats whilst in England during 1987-8. Then she went to India where she completed a traditional 10-year study programme in Buddhist studies at a Tibetan monastery in Dharamsala. Since her return to England as a lay-woman she has translated and edited the Insight volume of Geshe Sopa's oral commentary on Tsongkhapa's "Steps on the Path to Enlightenment" (forthcoming, Wisdom Publications). She is now doing a PhD in Buddhist philosophy at the University of Cambridge. Dechen also teaches meditation, Buddhism, and Tibetan language, in the UK and abroad. Stefan & Bethan Freedman Bethan and Stefan Freedman create enchantment with their particular way of balancing and blending dances. They were among the first sacred/circle dance teachers in the U.K. They teach both traditional dances and their own outstanding choreography, sometimes bringing in live music and song to add to the intimacy of the occasion. In response to the group their dances range from fiery and passionate to deeply mystical.
Both teach with clarity. They support and encourage dancers at all levels. Together they create a festive and inclusive atmosphere. ALL ARE WELCOME.

Bethan trained in dance at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, and delights in sharing the exquisite style that opens up secrets and joys of each culture through dancing.
Stefan creates dances to explore many dimensions and moods of contemporary world music and sacred songs. He plays a number of folk instruments.

Sun 14 Feb 2010: World Sound Healing Day - Sounding an "AH" for planetary peace

Every year on the 14th February people throughout the planet join together at 12 noon to tone the heart sound "AH" for a minimum of 5 minutes with the intention of projecting love to the Earth. People all over the world create a heart wave of sound that resonates around the planet.
World Sound Healing Day was begun in 2002 by Jonathan Goldman the founder of the US Sound Healers Association. Every year more people from more countries have joined in.
Certain prophecies suggest that if 144,000 people join together for planetary healing this could have a significant effect in restoring balance to the Earth.
For more details please go to www.collegeofsoundhealing.co.uk/pages/worldsound.html (World Sound Day)
The Global Consciousness Project is an international, multi-disciplinary collaboration of scientists, engineers, artists and others. Their purpose is to examine how large scale events effect consciousness in the world. They found a large shift in global consciousness after last years World Sound Healing Day. http://noosphere.princeton.edu/ (Meaningful Correlations in Random Data)

Sun 2 May: Beltane Celebration Day Dry Drayton, 11-5pm (PRE-BOOKING ESSENTIAL)

Join us in celebrating this traditional Celtic "Fire Energy" Festival marking the start of Summer. We will be dancing outside in woods and field as well as indoors, including the famous "Beltaine Brand", "Hoof and Horn" and "May the Circle be Open" traditional circle dances [full instructions given!] plus shamanic music and videos.

Drumming, chanting, dancing and rituals have the power to calm, center, lift depression, release anger and stress emotions, boost the immune system, enhance health and stress-resistance. Breath and walking meditations, divination cards.

Beltane is partly about raising our fire-energy - our passion and motivation for the coming months, but also about opening the heart chakra so that we may give out and receive the gentle supportive warmth of loving relationships during the coming months. Fire energy is also about "purification" - letting go of what is no longer needed and reconnecting to our core soul qualities and soul-purpose for this lifetime. We will be engage with this theme via symbolic dance and the ritual burning of our personal secret. Facilitated by Mike Meredith.

Mon 21 June: Global Summer Solstice Meditation: Third Step in a Cycle of 12 Globally Synchronized Meditations, 12:28 (summer time)

Focus on: "I am Peace". The following is a good attunement to the meditation:
"Before My very first Creative Fiat, All That I Am was Peace, a Peace so profound, so eternal, so thoroughly imbued with Grace that no human concept can possibly express this unfathomable state of Bliss, overflowing with still unmanifested Love and Light. That very same state of absolute Peace is eternally rooted in the very essence that I Am, and to this moment in the all encompassing Continuum of all that was, is and will ever be, I continue to be a living expression of that blissful state of graceful Peace. Acknowledging this fact in this very moment is reigniting once again the power that lies at the heart of Peace, a power so universal and so majestic that it can soothe and heal all that My Love embraces and all that My Light touches. When I Am totally allowing the Well of Peace in me to flow forth like a gushing fountain of pure energy, I am completely purified from any disturbing thought and ephemeral desire that could trouble the stillness in my consciousness that allows me to know Who I Am, and act and BE as such."

More about this global meditation at: www.earthrainbownetwork.com/FocusArchives/June212010Meditation.htm (Webposted on May 22, 2010 for the June 21, 2010 global meditation - PLEASE HELP NETWORK THIS...)

Finally you can conclude this meditation through reading the following, aloud or within the sacred sanctuary of your soul:

I am a soul. A divine spark of the Infinite that gave birth to this universe.

I remember Who I am and serve the Greater Purpose of Life as One with All That is.

I came here with many other souls to assist in the expansion of Light on this living planet Earth.

I accept to let Love be the guiding beacon of my life and to shine Its radiance in every moment.

I am a soul and the sole purpose of my existence is to be All That I Am.

So be it.
