King's were the only Cambridge College to enter crews into the 1997 Pairs Head of the River race on the London Tideway. The two crews entering the Senior II pairs were:

Iarla Kilbane-Dawe (left) and Colin Rickman (right) finished 16th in a time of 14:45.

Ben Beaumont (left) and Matthias Hammer (right) finished 13th in a time of 14:21.
