This is one of two KCBC crews ever to reach a Henley final. Both crews competed in the Visitor's Cup for coxless fours, one in 1953, the other in 1960.

The crew above are the 1953 boat with Drummond Matthews (bow), Tony Gilbert, George Marshall (who was also the 1952/53 CUBC President and a Blue), and David Pasteur. They got to the final by beating New College (Oxford), Oriel (Oxford) & Clare (Cambridge). In the final they lost to Magdalen (Oxford), only because of steering trouble!

The other crew, who reached the final in 1960, but lost it to 1st & 3rd Trinity by 3/4 length, were Graham Hutchinson (bow), Roger Street, Richard Irons, and Rodney Timpson.
