"Meet the Brewers"
The White Bear, Kneesworth St., Royston
(near the railway station)
Wednesday 28th April 1999
7.30pm onwards
An announcement from Des Quinn from the North Herts Branch of CAMRA.
A recruitment and CAMRA awareness night at The White Bear sponsored by
City of Cambridge and Elgoods Breweries
(From the railway station, turn right and it's about 5 mins. down the main road.)
- Elgoods Black Dog Mild 3.6% abv
- Hobson's Choice 4.1% abv
- Atom Splitter 4.7% abv
- Parker's Porter 5.3% abv
All at an unbelievable £1.25 per pint!
Meet Steve Draper, owner and brewer of City of Cambridge Brewery and Richard
Eyton-Jones, professional brewer, who will bring along a beer of a style that
has not been brewed in England for about 400 years. This unique beer
has been brewed without using hops.
Richard will give a short talk on how he has brewed this real Ale. They will
both be available throughout the evening for a chat.
As well as enjoying the beers the purpose of the evening is to raise the profile
of CAMRA in the Royston area and hopefully recruit some new members.
Other local branches will also be invited along.
See you there!
[ends]
Des Quinn, the landlord of The White Bear, will be offering free pints of Belgian wheat beer to anyone
who joins CAMRA on the night.
Some C&D Branch members will be making the trip via train, assembling at the Cambridge Blue, Gwydir St., approx. 7.15-7.30.
Please note that this is not a Cambridge & District CAMRA Branch event
